Prison Project

Three times a week a team of Mercy staff and volunteers take fruit, clean drinking water and sandwiches (when we have the resources) to people in the local police lock-up centres.
Mercy offers emergency care as needed, help contacting family or embassies (for foreigners) and family support for Thai nationals.
Mercy has been able to scrub out and repaint some of the cells. We have also put new flooring into some centres. When we have the resources and enough volunteers we would like to help all the local centres in the same way.
Future plans are to visit and provide personal support for those who receive jail sentences, offering community support when they are released.
